Charleston Digital Launches the AI Academy at the Charleston Learning Center
Press Release
AI Class in session
After successfully piloting a series on Collaborating with Agents, Charleston Digital is pleased to announce the launch of the AI Academy at the Charleston Learning Center (CLC).
Since 2011, Charleston Digital's talent strategy has recognized that a technically literate and adaptable workforce is essential to the region's economic future. The AI Academy at the CLC is a natural extension of this commitment, providing pragmatic and accessible classes and workshops to address the shift in how people work and learn today.
The AI Academy is designed to serve Tri-County residents through in-person, community-sourced AI classes and workshops for learners at all levels. Its goal is to move people from anxiety about AI toward something more useful: curiosity first, then competence, productivity, and eventually the confidence to lead others through the same journey.
"AI is a tool, and like any tool, it's only useful if people know how to use it," said City of Charleston Mayor William Cogswell. "Charleston Digital is making sure our residents have that knowledge."
“We appreciate Charleston Digital’s efforts to develop workforce skills that align with the needs of Charleston County employers,” said Merle Johnson, Charleston County Economic Development Executive Director.
Those looking for a place to start are encouraged to register for the free Introduction to AI class. The AI Academy includes intermediate-level classes such as AI for Professionals and Small Business Owners, and advanced-level offerings like the Collaborating with Agents series.
Residents interested in learning more about the AI Academy are encouraged to attend the Open House on July 1, 2026 at 9am. Register HERE.
