About the role

Charleston Digital is a non-profit public-private partnership developed to attract, nurture and promote Charleston’s tech economy. We accomplish our mission through three pillars: community events; flexible workspace options for early-stage tech companies; and talent recruitment and development through the Charleston Learning Center.

We’re looking for a seasoned, experienced, customer-centric and dynamic Office Manager to run our community events, keep our unique and welcoming workspace running smoothly, and support a diverse array of talented individuals and teams as members, tenants and the tech community at large. You’ll be the person who notices what needs doing before anyone asks, connects people and information across our programs, and goes the extra mile to solve problems for the people we serve.

We value knowledge of the Charleston community and its businesses. If you don’t meet every point but believe you can do this job well, we encourage you to apply.

To apply, send your resume and a short note about a time you went the extra mile for a customer or member to careers@charlestondigital.com. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If you need an accommodation at any point in the hiring process, email careers@charlestondigital.com.

What you'll do

  • Be the first point of contact for members, companies, and visitors.
  • Open and run the office reliably each day, including facilities, supplies, equipment and vendors.
  • Manage calendars, room bookings and logistics for meetings, classes and events at Charleston Digital and the Charleston Learning Center.
  • Answer member questions quickly and follow through until each one is resolved.
  • Spot what members need and connect them to the right program, staff member or partner.
  • Gather member feedback and suggest improvements to better serve our clients.
  • Keep member records, contact lists and files accurate and up to date.
  • Track office spending, process invoices and support basic bookkeeping.
  • Keep track of what’s happening across programs so the right people have the relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Flag problems and gaps early and propose practical fixes.
  • Support the executive director with scheduling, communication and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate preparation of reports, materials and communications for members, partners & board.
  • Take on other duties as the organization’s needs change.

What we're looking for

  • 5 or more years of experience as an office manager, administrator or in a similar role.
  • A track record in customer service or client-facing work where you owned the outcome.
  • Proficient with everyday office tools such as email, calendars, shared drives and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with nonprofits, membership organizations, economic development and tech is a plus.
  • Customer-centric: you treat every member, visitor and caller as someone who will move Charleston’s economy forward.
  • Goes the extra mile: you follow through, take ownership and don’t stop at “that’s not my job.”
  • Punctual and dependable: you’re on time, meet deadlines and people can count on you.
  • Connects the dots: you see how things fit together, spot the gaps & connect the right people.
  • Organized and detail-oriented: you juggle many tasks, catch small errors and are attentive to the finest details.
  • Clear communicator: you write and speak clearly and warmly, with members and colleagues alike.
