DLO HomeDock Deluxe displays iPod?s songs on TV, allowing users to navigate and select songs, artists and playlists from across the room using the included 18-button remote control
MACWORLD EXPO, SAN FRANCISCO, CA January 10, 2006 Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO), the number one iPod accessory manufacturer in America (NPD), today announced the DLO HomeDock Deluxe Home Entertainment Center for iPod with On-Screen Navigation.
It is the first dock for the iPod that allows a user to view and navigate their iPod's music and songs on their television screen while controlling the iPod from the sofa using the included 18-button remote control. The HomeDock Deluxe also allows iPod owners to play their slideshows and videos on their big-screen TV.
The HomeDock Deluxe will ship this March for a retail price of $149.99. It will also be on display at MacWorld Expo in San Francisco this week in DLO Booth #425.

HomeDock Deluxe contains everything needed to connect an iPod to a home stereo and TV in one simple package. Included with the HomeDock itself is an AC power supply that also charges the iPod when docked, a 6-foot AV cable for audio and video, a 18-button IR remote control and a powered speaker adapter.
With a new thinner adjustable docking stand, HomeDock fits any dockable iPod perfectly, including the iPod nano. HomeDock Deluxe on-screen navigation works with all dockable iPods all the way back to the 3G iPod. HomeDock displays iPod's music content on a beautifully rendered HomeDock TV screen interface that's as clear and as cool as the iPod itself. Users navigate with the HomeDock Remote through their songs and playlists in addition to controlling over 14 playback functions of their iPod. HomeDock Deluxe then displays the currently playing song info and time at the top of the TV screen, as well as showing music menu listings below. Song names and titles are large and easy to read from anywhere in the room. There's even a built-in screensaver in the HomeDock that protects TVs from burn-in if the screen sits idle for too long.
"On-screen navigation of iPod's music on a huge flat-screen TV has been a dream of iPod owners for a long time. It's one of the last 'big features' left to accomplish on the iPod and now DLO will be the first company to put that feature into customers' hands", said Jeff Grady, CEO of DLO. "It's innovations and features like on-screen navigation and remote iPod video control that add tremendous value to our customers' overall iPod experience. We take a users favorite iPod, and make it even better."
The DLO HomeDock Deluxe connects to a Home Stereo and TV with standard RCA plugs and S-Video connection - no adapters or Y-cables are necessary. The iPod's music is sent to the stereo through the superior audio line-out from the dock connector of the iPod. This is a much higher quality audio signal that when users simply plug their iPod into a stereo with a Y-cable from the headphone jack.
As with the original DLO HomeDock, the DLO HomeDock Deluxe also plays and remotely controls picture slideshows and videos from capable iPods. Vacation slideshows can now be shown on the big screen in the living room for the whole family to enjoy. And with more and more video content available for download to iPod via iTunes, iPods with video are becoming more like 'pocket TiVo's that just portable video players and the HomeDock Deluxe again is the perfect way to dock and enjoy these videos on a users existing home entertainment center.
The DLO HomeDock Deluxe is also a PC or Mac compatible dock for iPod. It features a USB 2.0 port for easy syncing and charging from a users computer. The USB port can also be used to power the HomeDock Deluxe, saving an AC plug for another device. P
