Immedion LLC, a provider of IT infrastructure solutions including Cloud, colocation and managed IT services, today announced its further expansion in the Midwest region through the acquisition of a data center in Columbus, Indiana. Formerly operated by Data Cave, this 86,400-square foot facility brings an added layer of geographic diversity to both companies and offers previous Data Cave customers access to Immedion's enterprise-colocation facilities and full suite of ultra-reliable, high performance Cloud services. This acquisition brings Immedion to eight data centers located in seven markets.
"Immedion is committed to providing our customers with high-touch support and the flexibility needed to manage their increasingly complex IT infrastructure," said Immedion CEO Frank Mobley. "With this acquisition, customers will have access to additional colocation resources, network connectivity options and geographic redundancies to meet their current and future needs."
Established in 2008, Data Cave's state of the art facility is strategically located in Columbus, Indiana to serve customers in the Indianapolis, Bloomington, Louisville, Evansville and Cincinnati metro areas. The purpose-built, SSAE-16 SOC 2 and SOC 3 Type II audited facility features 28 private, independent data suites with dedicated HVAC, fire suppression and electrical distribution systems in each suite. To deliver the highest levels of uptime, the data center includes fully redundant HVAC systems, a 200+ mph (EF5 tornado) wind rating, card and biometric access controls, fenced perimeter gated entrance, dual fed power, multiple fiber providers with diverse connectivity paths and a designated 'business continuity' workspace that can accommodate up to 240 people. With few severe weather risks, low population density and low crime rate, Columbus offers a high level of stability and security making it an ideal location for disaster recovery.
"Immedion is dedicated to delivering the highest levels of uptime and infrastructure performance," said Rob Moser, Immedion President and COO. "This facility meets our stringent requirements and has a proven 8-year track record of delivering 100% uptime."
Businesses ranging from small startups to Fortune 50 customers take advantage Immedion's secure and scalable Cloud, colocation and managed IT services for primary production, disaster recovery or as a supplement to their own data center environment. Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, Immedion was founded in 2007 with the goal of bringing the enterprise-class data center and managed IT services available in large cities to smaller markets. Over the years, Immedion has steadily expanded its operations to Columbia, Charleston and Rock Hill, SC, Asheville, NC, Cincinnati, OH and now Columbus, IN.
