Blue Acorn Launches Mori Luggage & Gifts? New eCommerce Site

Insight

October 19, 2012 - CHARLESTON, SC - Blue Acorn, a Charleston-based eCommerce agency that drives revenue growth for online retailers and brands, just launched the new online store for Mori Luggage & Gifts, an Atlanta-based retailer with over twenty-eight stores in six states, including one in the Charleston Place Hotel.

For Blue Acorn's Founder & CEO, Kevin Eichelberger, this new site struck a very personal chord, "Mori has been around for over forty years and is headquartered in the same city where I was living when I started Blue Acorn, so I was particularly excited to bring them on as a client. The fact that they have a store in the heart of downtown Charleston is just too perfect. It's an added bonus for our team to walk by such a distinguished retailer in a setting like the Charleston Place Hotel and know that our company built their online presence."

The site was designed and developed by Blue Acorn to elevate the shopping experience for the retailer's online customers. The site itself was built on Magento, which is the fastest-growing eCommerce platform on the planet and a main focal point of Blue Acorn's expertise. In their newly-expanded office on Rutledge Avenue, Blue Acorn employs nine of the world's Magento Certified Developers and two of the fifteen members on Magento Inc.'s Certification Advisory Board.

"When I think of Blue Acorn, the word that comes to mind is talent," said Mori Luggage & Gifts' Marketing Manager, Gwin Hammond. "From the project managers to graphic designers to QA, everyone we've worked with has impressed us with their deep understanding of eCommerce and talent in their area of responsibility. Knowing that Magento relies on Kevin and the Blue Acorn team to train other Magento developers also gave us a lot of confidence when choosing our web partner. We look forward to working with them for many years to come."

Every bit of the work that went into Mori Luggage & Gifts' new site - 100% of it - was done in Charleston, South Carolina by the Blue Acorn team. Blue Acorn is one of a growing number of technology-based companies that have opened up in Charleston, SC in the past five years, but they are the only company focused exclusively on the eCommerce space. As members of the Charleston Digital Corridor, they are known for supplying developers to teach at CODEcamp, their cornhole skills, and having their CEO run the 2012 iFive:K dressed as a giant squirrel carrying - what else - blue acorns.

On having a client just one state over, Eichelberger had this to say, "It's given us the opportunity to get to know the people at Mori a little better than we normally would. We were lucky to have them as our guests at an event we hosted in Atlanta, and they also made a few trips to Charleston to see - in person - just how hard our team works. They've gotten to know the code-cracking zombies we are when we're on the clock and the fun - some may say silly - group people that we are after hours. The support they've given us has been superb. Right now, we're happy to have a lot of clients we wouldn't sacrifice for the world and proud that Mori is one of them."
