Charleston Digital Corridor and ECPI Award Scholarships at Burke High Graduation

Digital Corridor Release

Charleston, SC–-June 3, 2010–- The Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation (CDCF) and education partner ECPI College of Technology are pleased to award scholarships to five seniors at the Burke High School graduation. Understanding that talent is the key driver of a knowledge economy, the Digital Corridor is following through on its commitment to develop Charleston's local technical workforce by choosing the Burke High Scholarship Fund as the beneficiary of the 2010 iFive:K race.

The scholarships will be presented by Charleston Mayor and CDCF board member, the Honorable Joseph P. Riley, Jr. and ECPI's Charleston Campus President, Mr. James Rund.

Each year, the Digital Corridor selects top graduates at Burke High School seeking higher education in a technology field. By partnering with ECPI and coming off its most successful 2010 i5k, the Digital Corridor was able to award a record five scholarships in 2010, three more than in past years.

Recipients of the 2010 awards are Chyna Fisher, Dasaray Fyall, Eric Coaxum, Quantez Miller and Brandon Molette. "It was an obvious choice for ECPI to be Education Sponsor for the iFive:K. This partnership is a natural extension of our commitment to further the Charleston community by enhancing the metro area's workforce and fostering lasting community relationships," said James Rund.

The iFive:K affords Digital Corridor member companies the opportunity to "actively" network with the Charleston community, while investing in its most important resource–-its workforce.
