Charleston, SC - March 10, 2006 - Benefitfocus.com, Inc., the leading provider of employee benefits software and services, will be hosting an April career fair in order to meet its extensive hiring demands from an instate talent pool.
"Our list of clients is growing exponentially," says Shawn Jenkins, President and CEO of Benefitfocus.com. "In order to keep up with the explosive demand for technology in the healthcare industry, we will need to continue expanding our workforce of engineering and technology associates in 2006."
Benefitfocus writes Internet-based software that replaces traditional paper forms employers use to administer their worker-benefit plans, such as health coverage. Clients include over 17 Blue Cross Blue Shield plans covering over 89,000 employer groups and 21.5 million members in all 50 states and 19 countries. Benefitfocus will be moving its headquarters to a new $16 million, 143,000-square-foot headquarters on Daniel Island in the fall of 2006 in order to accommodate its burgeoning workforce of 250 associates.
Additionally, the company plans to double its payroll by 2008, primarily from an applicant pool within the Palmetto State. Several regional colleges and universities are already participating in recruitment efforts, including Clemson University, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern University and University of South Carolina.
"Our company has achieved great success in the past six years by drawing largely on talent from our home state of South Carolina," says Jenkins. "We are proud of the support we have received from our local universities and colleges, and with their continuing interest, we hope to create an ever increasing technology presence in the community."
The career fair will be held on Tuesday, April 4 from 6pm to 8pm at its current headquarters at 627 Johnnie Dodds Blvd in Mount Pleasant. The company is looking for employees in the following areas: Data Analysis, Project Management, Software Implementation, Corporate Client Support and Software Engineering. Interested parties are invited to submit an electronic resume prior to the open house by going to www.benefitfocus.com.
